Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 15, 2026
We’ll keep this simple: we don’t sell your data, we don’t show you ads, and we don’t do anything creepy with your information. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it.
Neighbora is run by Sycer Technologies Limited, a Colorado company based in Austin, Texas. When we say “we” or “Neighbora,” that’s who we mean.
What we collect
Info you give us
When you sign up and use Neighbora, you provide things like:
- Your name and email address (to create your account)
- Profile information (so your neighbors know who you are)
- Service listings (what you’re offering to the community)
- Messages and other content you post on the platform
Info we collect automatically
When you use Neighbora, we automatically pick up some technical information:
- Device and browser info (type, version, operating system)
- IP address and general location (city level, not your apartment number)
- How you use the app (pages visited, features used, things you click on)
- Performance data (load times, errors, crashes)
Why we collect it
Straightforward reasons only:
- To run the platform and keep your account working
- To fix bugs and improve performance
- To understand how people use Neighbora so we can make it better
- To test new features (sometimes with feature flags, where different users see different versions of something)
- To keep the platform secure and prevent abuse
Analytics tools
We use third-party tools like PostHog to help us understand how Neighbora is used, track errors, measure performance, and manage feature rollouts. These tools may collect anonymized or pseudonymized usage data.
We pick tools that respect privacy and give us the minimum we need. We’re not building a profile on you to sell to advertisers — we genuinely just want to know if a page is slow or a button is broken.
Sponsored listings
Neighbora doesn’t show ads. We may introduce sponsored listings in the future, where local businesses or service providers can pay for visibility within communities. If we do, those listings will always be clearly marked as sponsored. We won’t share your personal data with sponsors — they’ll see aggregate stats at most (like “42 people viewed your listing”), never individual user info.
Who sees your data
We don’t sell your data. Full stop. Here’s who might access it:
- Your community: Other members of your apartment community can see your profile and listings. That's the whole point.
- Service providers: We use a small number of trusted tools to run the platform (hosting, email, analytics). They only access data as needed to provide their services, not for their own purposes.
- Legal requirements: If the law requires us to share information (like a valid subpoena), we’ll comply. We’ll push back on requests that seem overbroad.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your preferences. Our analytics tools may also set cookies to understand usage patterns. We don’t use tracking cookies for advertising because, again, we don’t do ads.
Your choices
You’re in control:
- You can update your profile information anytime from your settings.
- Most browsers let you block or clear cookies if you want to limit analytics tracking.
Account deletion
If you want your account and data deleted, email us at [email protected]. We’ll process your request within 7 days and remove your personal data from our systems, except for anything we’re legally required to retain.
Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, and access controls. No system is bulletproof, but we treat your data with the same care we’d want for our own.
Children
Neighbora is not for anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect data from minors. If we find out we have, we’ll delete it.
Changes
If we update this policy, we’ll change the date at the top and post the new version here. For big changes, we’ll do our best to give you a heads-up. Continuing to use Neighbora after an update means you accept the revised policy.
